Right out of the box the Venom GPV-1 1/8 scale R/C RTR Motorcycle comes loaded with features normally found in high dollar models. Look under the highly detailed pro painted and decaled poly carbonate bodywork and you’ll find the heart of the GPV-1.
Merging the design philosophies of real world GP race bikes and radio controlled models, the GPV-1 represents Venom Group’s most ambitious project in its seven-year company history. After passing Venom’s intensive design & development program, the Venom GPV-1 Race Bike hits the market featuring a combination of scale realism with composite materials and high performance handling not usually found in a ready-to-run model of this size or price category.
From the beginning, Venom set out to design a race level motorcycle that was highly tunable for R/C racers yet fun and easy to drive for beginners. To achieve this, Venom designed the GPV-1 around a Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Chassis structure that offers fine-tuning of suspension while lending a compact, low center of gravity for easy handling. With the Venom VR3T 3-Channel Radio Transmitter in hand, experts and beginners alike are able to immediately take control of the motorcycle and drive it with confidence.
THE CHASSIS
At the heart of the GPV-1 lies the Fiber Reinforced Plactic (FRP) plate chassis, designed to centralize and lower the center of gravity to provide optimum balance and handling. With its self-righting design, the GPV-1 is easy to get up and running after a crash and has excellent low and high speed handling. Its rigidity and strength lie in a series of FRP Chassis plates that reduces weight and minimizes chassis flex. With the flex gone, the suspension is free to do its job.
THE SUSPENSION
The key to the GPV-1's precise handling lies in its suspension design and geometry. Based on full sized race bikes, the front suspension features telescopic inverted forks. The fork's smooth operation comes from five precision machined Teflon bushings that keep the shock shaft in line and straight throughout the entire stroke. Where other fork designs wobble, the GPV-1 stays true. Fine tune the dampening using any of the eight Teflon fork pistons included in the kit. Combine them with different oil weights and you’ll have unlimited tunability. The rear shock features a composite threaded shock body with an alloy preload collar for fine tuning the rear dampening. Inside, you’ll find a precision machined Teflon piston and bushing as standard equipment.
ULTIMATE CONTROL
Finally, an RTR Radio you’ll want to keep using! - The GPV-1 comes with the VR3T, a 3-Channel Computerized FM Radio featuring 3rd Channel Mixing and 15 Model Memory. The radio also has Programmable Steering Dual Rate with a thumb switch so you can adjust the steering sensitivity on-the-fly. With the freedom of 3rd Channel mixing, the VR3T is ready to integrate directly with Venom’s optional Front Brake Kit. The VR3T has so many high-end features you’ll forget you’re using an RTR kit radio!
POWER SYSTEM
The GPV-1 power system has been optimized to be tame enough for beginners yet have enough punch to keep experts on the edge of traction. The V-Series 18R Micro ESC features reverse lockout and an easy one button setup. The 6-Cell 7.2v 1200mah NIMH Micro Battery Pack was designed specifically for the Venom GPV-1. Compact in size, the battery fits snuggly on the bottom of the chassis keeping all the weight low and centered to provide exceptional handling. |
