How to Convert a MegaPro/ProPulse Truck into a Buggy

The Megatech MegaPro/ProPulse buggies are no longer in production and we've had thousands of customers ask us what you would have to do to turn a truck into a buggy. Since the vehicles are 95% the same, it's really very easy and we'll show you the three main steps and the parts you will need. You can also view our YouTube video on this conversion below:

 Parts Needed for Conversion:

MTC73073 - Rear Wing Kit
MTC73024 - Bumper Kit
MTC73026 - Shock Tower Kit
either MTC73032 - Orange Body
 or MTC73067 - Green Body
 ---------------------------------------

Conversion Instructions
  1. Remove truck bumpers and install buggy bumpers: Both the front and rear bumpers are attached by 2 screws.
  2. Remove the truck body mounts: There are 2 body mounts connected to the top of each shock tower. Each of the mounts is held in place by a small body clip. Just slide each of the 4 clips out and remove the truck body mounts.
  3. Install the front buggy body mount: This is the trickiest part of the conversion. You will need to remove the driveshaft cover (the part that the ESC and receiver are attached to). There are 2 screws that attach the front of the driveshaft cover and 2 for the rear. The ones in the rear are a little more difficult to access, so you may want to detach the rear tie rods to have more room to access the rear driveshaft cover screws. Lift the driveshaft cover off very slowly and tilt the front upwards. You will see a single small hole in the front of the driveshaft cover. Remove the screw and front buggy mount from the shock tower kit. Insert the screw upward through the hole in the driveshaft cover and screw into the front buggy body mount. Try to align the body mount hole sideways to make it easier to insert the body clip when installing the body. Once the front buggy body mount is installed and aligned correctly, you can reconnect the driveshaft cover. Make sure that the antenna wire is not repositioned to where it touches the driveshaft. This could cause damage to the reciever antenna, which could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
  4. Install the rear body mount and wing assembly: This part is very easy. First, there are 2 lower screws attaching the rear shock tower. Remove these 2 screws. You will not need them again as you will be using 2 longer screws to install the rear wing mounts. Open up your wing kit and set out all of the parts. Also get the rear buggy body mount from the shock tower kit. You have 4 screws in the wing kit. Take the first 2 and insert them through the bottom of each wing mount. Go ahead and screw these into the shock towers where you removed the original smaller screws. Then, take the other 2 screws from the wing kit and insert them through the upper rear wing mount holes. These will protrude through the shock tower and you will need to screw them into the rear buggy body mount. Once the rear buggy body mount has been connected, just take the body clips and attach the rear wing.
  5. Install the body: This is the easiest part. Just clip the new buggy body to the new buggy mounts and you are done. Now you have turned a MegaPro truck into a buggy, and you can switch it back to the truck very easily if you change your mind later.
